As a jailbreaker, I like to customize my iPhone and iPad in a variety of ways whenever I can. So I’ve been tempted to try many jailbreak tweaks. Most of the time, I try out subtle customizations on my iPhone. An iOS developer MiRO has released a new and free jailbreak tweak called AdaptiveStatusBar. It colorizes the Status Bar based on the icon of the app you’re using.

The screenshots below illustrate some examples of the AdaptiveStatusBar tweak. In each case, the text and icons in the status bar appear in a specific color and are derived from the app icon. In one example, the yellow note application icon gives the status bar a yellow color, while the primarily purple Instagram app gives the status bar a purple color.

AdaptiveStatusBar is simple. So the developer does not provide options to configure it. It automatically determines the predominant color of any application you use and changes the color of the status bar accordingly. It changes color on the fly. Then, you return to the Home Screen, and it returns to the default color.

Those who want to try out the new AdaptiveStatusBar tweak can download it for free from MiRO’s Repository through their favorite Package Manager. This tweak supports jailbroken iOS 13 and iOS 14 devices.

If you have not already used MiRO’s repository, then you can add it to your Cydia sources by using the following URL.
