While some iPhone users always like having a background behind iPhone’s Home Screen Dock, but a substantial number of users don’t like having a dock background. Consequently, they try to jailbreak their iPhone or iPad and find jailbreak tweaks to hide their Home Screen’s Dock background. The latest of such Jailbreak tweak releases is called TransparentDock by iOS developer ExeRhythm, which makes the background of the Dock completely transparent, and makes it disappear completely.

In a previous article, I introduced a new tweak called Transdock as a jailbreak tweak similar to TransparentDock, and it can also make your native Dock completely transparent.

Significantly, the concept behind this tweak isn’t exactly new, and there are many jailbreak tweaks to do the same task. As described in the developer’s /r/jailbreak release post, the developer has created TransparentDock using the new Orion tool, which lets jailbreak developers to develop their tweaks using the Swift programming language.

The Asteroid was the first jailbreak tweak created by the Orion tool, which was released last week. However, not many developers are taking advantage of it yet, because the tool is so new. Significantly, the TransparentDock tweak is open-source on the developer’s GitHub page.

The tweak unquestionably works well for jailbreakers who want a transparent Home Screen Dock. The primary purpose of this tweak is to offer a template from which other developers can start making jailbreak tweaks using Orion and Swift.

Primarily, the TransparentDock tweak doesn’t provide any options to configure. You will see the difference in the before and after screenshots above.
