Privacy is a valuable thing that can be protected by an iPhone passcode or biometric authentication such as Face ID or Touch ID. But Apple can do much more to enhance user privacy through their operating systems. This is especially important when someone knows your password, or for some reason, you hand over your unlocked device to another person. iOS developers Devvix and nicho1asdev realized this and later created a new jailbreak tweak called Spore, making it easier than ever to hide and protect your apps with a passcode or biometric authentication Face or Touch ID. Now the tweak is available to the general public.
- In addition, you can use HideYourapps tweak to hide apps in iOS 14.
Spore tweak allows you to hide and protect app(s) so that although someone else knows your passcode and can control your device, he won’t be able to find or use those apps. The tweak hides those apps from the home screen and folders; however, they are also hidden from spotlight search, Siri suggestions, the App Store. Spore can even intelligently hide notifications from those protected apps and prevent the user from even seeing them.
Once you hide, those apps are moved to a Hidden Space, and you can simply access it anytime you want with a simple pinch gesture on your home screen. You can tap the “+” button in the Hidden Space to add more apps or the “x” button to exit. Please note that you will need to enter a passcode when accessing the hidden space, then you can choose to use your device’s native passcode or use a fully customizable one in the Spore’s settings. Alternatively, you can also use biometric authentication if your iPhone or iPad supports it.
Spore tweak options
- Turn Spore on or off on demand
- Choose between appearance settings such as light, dark, or adaptive
- Turn on or off biometric authentication
- Turn on or off custom passcode
- Setup a custom passcode instead of your device’s passcode
- Respring your device to save all changes
Spore tweak is fully compatible with jailbroken iOS 13 and iOS 14 devices, and support for iOS 12 is expected soon. Also, you can use the activator gesture to summon the hidden space. In addition, the modification supports both dark and light modes.
If you’d like to try out a new Spore tweak, you can buy it from the Geometric repository for $ 1.99. If you have not already added the Geometric repo, you can add it to the package manager using the following URL:
