Your messages, on every device and send & receive texts from the comfort of your computer.

Many people use different methods to maintain a relationship with each other. Among them, the iPhone users accomplish their basic communication requirements through iMessage and SMS. So, what if it could read and send conversations via iMessage and SMS across your computer? You can quickly implement it by combining a computer application with the newly released Jailbreak tweak as WebMessage by an iOS developer, sgtaziz.

WebMessage jailbreak tweak turns your iPhone into a messaging server. By installing a particular client on your computer, you can read and respond to iMessage and SMS conversations through your computer, even if you are not a Mac computer. However, you can install it on major operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and macOS.

WebMessage Client Settings

You can download the computer client from the developer’s GitHub page. Once installed, you can connect to your iPhone through the WebMessage tweak settings. You can easily link to the computer client by entering the IP address shown in the WebMessage tweak settings window.

As the developer notes, it uses the WebMessage REST API and WebSocket to do just that. For it to work, the client and jailbroken iPhone must be on the same Wi-Fi network. Alternatively, you can also use tunneling if the same network isn’t possible.

WebMessage tweak features:

  • Real-time sending and receiving of messages
  • Sending attachments from your computer without needing to transfer them to your phone
  • Native notifications
  • SSL encryption using your own privately generated certificate
  • Password-protected
  • Always-running daemon
  • Ability to download all attachments through the client

According to the developer, future updates will provide many features like reactions, read receipts, and more.

According to the developer, WebMessage has not been tested against iOS 12 thoroughly, and it is still in its early stages. But, WebMessage supports jailbroken 13 and 14 devices. I tried on iOS 14.3, and it works very well.

Furthermore, users can download it for free from the sgtaziz repository from your favorite package manager.

If you already have not added the above repository for your Cydia sources, you can add it to your list.

You need to download the client separately for your computer through the developer’s GitHub page. Besides, WebMessage is a fully open source.
