Apple has made easier access to your iPhone’s camera or rear-facing LED flashlight by introducing Quick Action buttons to the Lock screen. After releasing notched iPhones, the feature was primarily added to iPhone X or later iPhones. Many iPhone users have been tempted to embrace the Quick Action buttons because of their convenience and instant accessibility. But everyone is not the same. Therefore, many minimalists have tried to remove the Quick Action buttons from the Lock screen for ages. That’s why iOS developer aJBboCydiacomes has released a new and free jailbreak tweak called LockScreenHiddenButton.

The lock screen tweak effectively removes the camera and flashlight-based Quick Action buttons from your Lock Screen.

Look at the before (left) and after (right) screenshot examples above. You can see how LockScreenHiddenButton changes the appearance of the Lock Screen after hiding the unwanted Quick Action buttons.

The output gives you a much more minimalist-friendly lock screen. However, you cannot toggle the camera or rear-facing LED flashlight without any additional actions on your iPhone. Anyone looking to remove those Quick Actions buttons would have probably exacted this tweak.

Why are users tempted to remove the Lock Screen’s Quick Action buttons?

  • Making the look of the lock screen minimalist
  • Avoiding accidental toggling the Camera and the Flashlight on
  • Getting a better look at your lock screen’s wallpaper
