The iPhone’s Lock Screen provides you with a straightforward and user-friendly experience. However, if you are a heavy iPhone user, you may especially like functionality rather than user-friendliness, and you may find that you need something more. With the release of LockApps jailbreak tweak, iOS developer ginsudev achieves a nice compromise between the functionality and user-friendliness, replacing the Lock Screen’s standalone Camera app shortcut with one that leads to an app drawer, including all the programs you want faster access to.

Once installed, a new shortcut button with three little squares appears instead of the Lock Screen’s Camera app shortcut. The little squares in the screenshots above indicate app icons, unsurprising.

The procedure for getting to the app drawer-styled shortcut page is the same as getting to the Camera from the Lock Screen before LockApps was installed. You may either perform a 3D Touch/Haptic Touch motion on the designated shortcut button or just slide your Lock Screen from left to right.

LockApps tweak Features

After installation, users can configure the tweak from the dedicated preference pane in the Settings app.

  • Turn LockApps on or off on demand
  • Select which apps appear in the shortcut interface, similar to an app drawer.
  • Choose how many app icons appear in each row (1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8)

The developer has included an Apply button in the top-right corner of the screen to save any changes you’ve made.

Especially, LockApps launches apps from the Lock Screen from the app drawer-like interface to authenticate themselves with biometrics such as Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode. So, you can access your favorite apps more quickly, without compromising your privacy or security.

LockApps Repo

Those interested in trying the LockApps can buy it from the Packix repository via their package manager app for $1.50. The LockApps tweak compatible with both iPhones and iPads running iOS 14 and iPadOS 14.
