After setting up a timer on your iPhone, you can either look at the lock screen or open the clock app to see the remaining time before it rings. But what if the timer is displayed on the status bar in addition to your iPhone lock screen and Clock app? iOS developer ldefix2020 has created a new and free jailbreak tweak called StatusBarTimer, which keeps the rest of the timer in the status bar so you can see it anywhere on iOS.

As you can see in the screenshot above, the StatusBarTimer tweak lets you see your timer in places like the Home Screen and other apps by replacing the clock indicator in the status bar.

One crucial thing to note is that some users may find it embarrassing to lose the ability to return to the original status bar clock when the timer activates. When I wanted to know the time, I found this to be a bit frustrating. So, instead, I installed a TimerIcon, a tweak of the developer’s on StatusBarTimer.

The downside of the TimerIcon is that it does not allow you to view the remaining timer from other apps like the StatusBarTimer. When Concern installing both tweaks, they will work together without any problems.

After installation, there is no option to configure StatusBarTimer, and you can download it for free from the Packix Repository through your favourite Package Manager. The tweak also supports jailbroken iOS 14 devices. Furthermore, it is open-source on the developer’s GitHub page.
