YTClassicVideoQuality tweak reverts to the original video quality selector in the YouTube app.

YouTube has recently updated its video quality settings bringing a new and more modern look into play with a new Video quality preferences section in the Youtube app settings. It allows Youtube users to select a default quality for all videos such as Auto, Higher Picture Quality, Data Saver, and Advanced Options. Especially, users usually expect an update to make things easier for them, but this update seems to do the opposite. So, many users do not like the new video quality settings as they cannot set their preferred resolution.

As I have seen, some users are asking Social websites like Twitter YouTube to restore the old settings menu so that they need to change the resolution easily.

But, YouTube doesn’t give users the ability to revert to the classic video quality selector. In such a case, Jailbreak comes in handy. If you have jailbroken your iPhone or iPad, you can now take advantage of a new and free jailbreak tweak called YTClassicVideoQuality by iOS developer PoomSmart.

YTClassicVideoQuality tweak allows you to revert to the original video quality selector in the YouTube app. So, you don’t have to go to the Advanced option to select the Video quality resolution. The YTClassicVideoQuality brings the classic resolution tab to your Youtube app. It is compatible with iOS 11.0 -to iOS 14 and works with the latest Youtube app, version 16.20.5.

One more thing to say, once installed, YTClassicVideoQuality does not add a dedicated preferences window to configure the settings.

Following the screenshot example above, you can see how the YTClassicVideoQuality video quality selector looks like before and after installation through the Youtube app.

Download and Install YTClassicVideoQuality for iOS 14

Those interested in trying YTClassicVideoQuality can download it for free from PoomSmart’s repository via their favourite package manager. It also supports all jailbroken iOS 11 to 14 devices. Furthermore, you can run with the latest version of the official YouTube app. Also, the tweak works well on iPadOS.
